Hi my name is Mo, and welcome to my blog, 3GreatFinds which I use to log the best deals I can find on awesome quality, innovative products for your home. Who am I and what gives me any credibility to do this you ask??
Well for close to a decade I’ve been both a home and outdoor category buyer for a major home improvement retailer that you’ve all heard of, and more recently I was an executive with a home products company that developed patio, heating and building supply products for major North American retailers.
After seeing all of the crappy deal-a-day sites, that list anything and everything regardless of value and quality, I felt like people needed a resource to filter out all of the crap deals and focus on the best products and offers. I decided I could help by channelling my experience and finding the best true deals on home and garden products online each day and reporting on them
Now, sorting and sifting through the web all day looking for select deals is not easy, nor is it that efficient. So I took a bit of a modified approach, and only shop at the top rated, major online retailers like Amazon.com. This ensures typically highly competitive pricing, good free shipping options, and of course safe, secure shopping. I specifically love Amazon because of the following reasons:
- Amazon has a massive section of products, media, categories and brands. It offers an insanely large marketplace offering literally millions of products. To put that in perspective - Your local Walmart carries a minuscule fraction of that.
- Price: Amazon offers a very competitive marketplace that allows any company to utilize the Amazon web platform to sell products, and become part of the ‘Amazon Collective’ . The net result is very competitive pricing that is many times the best online.
- Shipping. We don’t know about you, but when we order something online we want it now! Amazon has an incredible technology and logistics network that delivers amazing shipping times. Add to this their in-house eCommerce and search platform, and you get a very robust shopping environment that is easily the one of the best customer experiences online.
- Amazon also offers great customer service and offer easy straight-forward returns. Just go to Google to do a little research and you will quickly get a sense that you are doing business with an innovative company that gets customers, shares success and does it right.
In a recent study of 143 retailers last year by the Temkin Group called the ’2011 Temkin Experience Ratings‘ list – Amazon came in at number 1, based on its customer service, pricing and selection, topping another of my personal favourite’s Costco.
Another reason I love Amazon is its success sharing principles. Amazon derives a significant portion of its revenues from affiliate publishers and blog writers, like me, that are small “mom and pop” publishers online. Everyday people like me wake up and put hours into product research, informing people of our findings, and creating fresh relevant content so our readers can benefit and save time when researching items online .
As a result, Amazon recognizes this value, and provides me with a small commission whenever any of my readers link to Amazon via our site and complete a purchase. We are very transparent about this fact, because we have bills to pay just like you do.
Many blogs today use basic advertising spaces littered on the site to pay the bills, I thought about his model, but I found that the ads being displayed were just not relevant to you the reader or my content. So I choose the affiliate model, which pays me a small commission if you buy.
Also just because I use Amazon as a preferred source, I’m not biased when it comes to saving you time and money. So If I find something at a better or comparable price from a known reputable retailer, I will let you know about it so you can decide the best place for to buy from.
Lastly, I do this work because I understand retail, and I understand good brands and quality. I’m not looking for cheap crap, and only list things I would buy for my own home.
